DO YOU LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE?

IF SO, HELP US MAKE IT EVEN BETTER

Your local Council is not just responsible for collecting tax, its actions affect our everyday lives, including planning, environmental protection, roads & highways, provision of leisure facilities, parks & open spaces, housing, education and much more.

To run effectively, we need Councillors who care passionately about their neighbourhood and are willing to stand up for the issues that matter most.

Whilst each council needs its political thinkers, the majority of councillors are not politicians; they are local champions who believe in public service and want to do what's right for their neighbours and the local community.

To help you decide if you would like to be a local Councillor, we invite you to join us at one of our "open evenings" where you will have an opportunity to speak one-to-one with an experienced local Conservative Councillor.

Many people would make good Councillors but don't volunteer because they don't know what's involved. Others may simply not know how to go about it or are put off by a lack of understanding.

That is why your local Conservatives have built this page. As we consider recruiting candidates for the future we want to hear from all of those people who have much to offer but may not be members of a political party or might not have considered seeking elected office. Perhaps that person is you?

So, just who are our local Councillors and candidates?

In the picture is a selection from within the Bracknell constituency (includes Bracknell, Sandhurst, Crowthorne, Finchampstead and Wokingham Without). As you can see, they are just like you!
