On Saturday 4 September 2021 the long awaited, inaugural, Bracknell Conservative Association Bowls Afternoon was held at the Great Hollands Recreation Ground Bowls Green.
A group of 20 members and guests were greatly looking forward to an afternoon of bowls followed by a lavish cream tea in the Great Holland pavilion.
There were 8 bowlers, none of whom had played before. They were expertly coached by Michael Omerod who formed them into two teams. one lead by Ian Sharland [Crown Wood branch] and the other by Pauline Mckenzie [College Town branch].
The Teams fought a close contest with Ian's Crown Wood team securing a 9 - 7 victory!

It didn't look like it would end that way after Pauline opened the afternoon by hitting and resting against the jack with her very first bowl.

Afterwards, everyone adjourned to the pavilion where a super selection of sandwiches and cakes were served courtesy of Rosie Stewart.
