Bracknell Conservatives are doing our very best to serve the elderly in our community. Together with other local residents we voted for Sandhurst Day Centre to receive funding by the Aviva Community Fund and Cllr Pauline McKenzie is delighted to announce that as a result the day centre has won funding for a Makeover Project.
“A huge thanks to everyone who voted for us. This much needed money (£9,942.00) will be put to the redecoration and replacement of dining room furniture. Our members are so excited and you made this possible. We will have much pleasure in organising this change,” says Cllr Pauline McKenzie, Chairman of Sandhurst Day Centre.
It is hoped the new look will increase attendance and help to hire out the premises. There is still lots to be done though including new flooring, LED lights and new toilets. Fundraising continues full steam ahead with Cllr McKenzie planning a number of fundraising events including a ladies football match courtesy of Sandhurst Town Football club, a quiz – with matched funding from a local employer and on 1 July an event on the park for all the family.
