The Prime Minister on Wednesday announced that we will be increasing the Government’s affordable housing budget by £2 billion. Conservatives are working to deliver a new generation of council housing to help fix our broken housing market.
David Orr, Chief Executive at the National Housing Federation proclaimed the announcement as “ a watershed moment for the nation,” that will “make a real difference to those let down by a broken housing market.”

There was also an announcement of an expansion of the Help to Buy loan scheme to support families and help them to achieve their dream of home ownership. One of the biggest barriers to home ownership is saving for a deposit, Conservatives will help over 130,000 more families to buy their own home.
